Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Full-time Residential Care Advisor for a 12-bed home in West Mifflin, near Kennywood. Responsibilities include assisting with grooming, bathing, meals, and daily living activities, while supporting residents with independence and dignity.

Ideal candidates have a driver’s license, an Act 33/34/73 clearance, and the ability to work a night shift in a team-based setting. Comprehensive benefits start at day one into a community-based, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• 1 year of direct care experience.
• Valid Driver license.
• Ability to drive an organizational vehicle.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances.
• Pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Residential Care Advisors provide assistance, medication administration, hygiene support and training to adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness in our residential locations.
• We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.
• This position will work in a 12 bed home located in the West Mifflin neighborhood of Pittsburgh, close to Kennywood, and a short walk from the bus line.
• Residential Care Advisors can expect to assist with bathing, toileting and dressing residents; cooking meals, and providing support with activities of daily living.
• Staff are encouraged to help support residents’ well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both on and off-site activities.

• Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the residents’ well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.
