Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy, part of Trinity Health, seeks compassionate individuals for a Resident Care role in Bethel Park. You will support adults with Serious Mental Illness in a 3-bed Home, mentor a small team, and help residents engage in community activities.

Daily duties include cooking, cleaning, medications, appointments, and enriching activities that promote well-being. We value teamwork, resilience, and a strengths-based approach; benefits begin day one and a 4-day workweek schedule is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or HS diploma with 1 year direct care experience.
• Ability to drive an organization automobile/van.
• Act 33/34/73 Clearances.
• Pre-employment Drug Screen

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and training to individuals with Serious Mental Illness in Bethel Park residential site.
• Lead and mentor a team using a strengths-based approach.
• Work in a small 3-bed Mental Health Support Home across from South Park in Bethel Park.
• Engage residents on-site and in the community to support well-being.
• Support resident well-being through socialization, activities, shopping, trips, and other daily life activities.
• Enjoy working with a small, diverse group of residents and make a direct positive impact on their lives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• This position will provide assistance and training to individuals with Serious Mental Illness in our residential treatment Bethel Park location.
• We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, and use positive practices to help guide their everyday activities.
• This position will work in a small 3-bed Mental Health Support Home located in a neighborhood setting in Bethel Park., conveniently located across from South Park.
• While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this position offers many opportunities to engage with the residents both on site and out in the community.
• Along with daily interactions and conversations, staff are highly encouraged to help support the resident’s well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation of both and on and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that support their social and personal well-being.
