Job summary

Met Council seeks a Superintendent to oversee all building maintenance in New York City. This role ensures a safe and sanitary environment by supervising maintenance staff, conducting inspections, and managing repairs. Candidates should have at least 5 years of residential building maintenance experience and a strong understanding of NYC regulations.

The position offers a salary of $23 - $25 per hour along with major medical benefits, 403(b) plan, and generous vacation leave.

Qualifications

• Experience with residential building maintenance and compliance with NYC regulations.
• Proficiency in managing repairs and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise repairs and maintenance tasks within the buildings.
• Respond to daily requests for repairs and maintain heating systems.
• Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance and keep accurate records.

Skills

Knowledge of building structures, systems, and equipment

Skilled in basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Ability to manage multiple priorities

Education

5+ years of experience in residential building maintenance

1+ year of supervisory experience
