Job summary

Community Access in New York City is seeking a dedicated Building Superintendent to maintain safety, lead routine repairs, and ensure compliance with NYC codes in our supportive housing portfolio.

You will oversee maintenance, manage work orders in Yardi/Maintenance IQ, supervise staff and vendors, coordinate turnovers, and collaborate with social services staff to support residents; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of training or three years of related work experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be fingerprinted and cleared by NY State authorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems and common areas.
• Review and prioritize incoming maintenance requests based on priority levels.
• Utilize Yardi and Maintenance IQ to track vacancy turns, repairs, workflows and inspections.
• Assign work orders to in-house staff or external vendors.
• Monitor status of work orders and ensure timely completion and documentation.
