Job summary

Breaking Ground is seeking an Engineer to join our maintenance team at 90 Sands, a 30-story residential building in DUMBO, Brooklyn. You will maintain common areas and apartments, handling basic electrical and plumbing tasks.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role requires three years of comparable work, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and the ability to lift, climb stairs, and use power tools. This is a 35-hour work week with hands-on responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Three years of comparable work experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Skilled at operating power tools.
• Basic knowledge of electricity and plumbing.
• Able to lift and move furniture and stand for long periods.
• Able to climb multiple flights of stairs if elevators fail.
• Basic computer knowledge a plus.
• Experience with elderly, disabled, or formerly homeless populations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine and preventative maintenance.
• Complete regular and emergency electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Log and maintain work orders initiated during shift.
• Assist the painters and housekeepers when assigned.
