Job summary

Southeastern Directions for Life is seeking a full-time Residential Assistant for its Cayman Court Assisted Living Program to support adults with severe mental illness. The role involves direct care, scheduling, transportation, and day-to-day activities to promote residents' well-being.

Shifts include 6:30am–2:30pm or 1:30pm–9:30pm, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Benefits include health and retirement plans, paid holidays, and licensure reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a current driver's license, car insurance, and driving record acceptable to insurer.
• Background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening required.
• Psychiatric or assisted living experience beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support residents with day-to-day needs and direct care.
• Schedule and arrange transportation for appointments.
• Complete assessments and provide personal care and medication assistance.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, recreation, and socialization.
• Assist Residential Manager with other duties as assigned.

Hours for the position are morning shifts (6:30am - 2:30pm) or evening shifts (1:30pm - 9:30pm), every other weekend, and rotating holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Residential Assistant monitors and supports residents with their day-to-day needs as well as direct care. Responsibilities include scheduling and transportation for appointments, completing assessments, personal care, medication assistance, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, recreation, and socialization. The RA will assist the Residential Manager with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous psychiatric or assisted living experience beneficial, but not required. Must have a current driver's license, car insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Southeast's insurance provider. Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check to include fingerprinting, Dept. of Social Services Central Registry check, Motor Vehicle background check, and drug screening.
