Job summary

Southeastern Directions for Life is seeking a full-time Overnight Direct Support Professional to support individuals in a group home setting in Sioux Falls. The role includes 1–4 overnights with occasional evening shifts and requires flexibility for weekends and holidays.

DSPs help residents lead self-directed lives, develop daily living skills, and participate in community activities. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required, along with comprehensive background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a current driver's license and car insurance.
• Background checks including fingerprinting, Dept. of Social Services Central Registry check, motor vehicle background check, and drug screening are required.

Southeastern Directions for Life has an opening for a full-time overnight position available for a Residential Direct Support Professional. Our mission is 'empowering people to discover their directions for life in a changing world.' This position consists of 1 to 4 overnights with an occasional contact evening shift. The individual would be working in one of our group home settings with individuals with developmental disabilities.

JOB SUMMARY:

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assist people we serve to lead self-directed lives and to be in and part of the community. They encourage attitudes & behaviors that enhance community inclusion. May act as an advocate for the individual in communicating their needs, self expression, & goals. DSPs work directly with the people we serve teaching them self-care, social, and communication skills. Depending on the needs of the people we support, DSPs provide assistance with daily living skills development, health maintenance, medication administration, personal care, and behavioral development. DSPs advocate and provide supports to assist individuals to be fully integrated into community life. Southeast operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary. Flexibility during emergencies and inclement weather is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current driver's license, car insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Southern states' insurance provider. Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check to include fingerprinting, Dept. of Social Services Central Registry check, Motor Vehicle background check, and drug screening.
