Job summary

Homebound seeks an Architectural Associate to guide design development and manage external consultants across Dallas markets. You’ll drive architectural plan development, coordinate documentation, and ensure quality from concept through permitting.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of residential architecture experience, strong BIM skills (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Bluebeam), and a proven ability to lead projects with design sensitivity and budget awareness. Hybrid role.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of architectural experience in a Project Architect or Architectural Project Manager role.
• Experience on single-family residential projects, including zoning, permitting, and HOA processes.
• Production or semi-custom homebuilding or boutique residential design experience preferred.
• Strong eye for exterior architecture, materials, and overall composition.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and/or Bluebeam; BIM experience required.
• Understanding of residential construction systems and coordination (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and climate-specific considerations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate external architectural partners and consultants through pre-construction, ensuring alignment with Homebound standards.
• Manage consultant selection, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management within the network.
• Prepare and review construction documents prior to submittal and support permitting processes.
• Ensure schematic design intent carries through design development and documentation within budgets.
• Support development of Homebound's plan series, adapting layouts to market requirements.
• Provide design direction to external architects on exterior architecture and materials.
• Review Revit models from external architects to ensure Homebound standards.
