Job summary

Community Housing Advocates is seeking a Residential Aide for the Haven Program in Hartford, CT. You will help ensure a safe, supportive home for young adults, guiding daily activities and developing life skills in a growth-focused environment.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide structure, support, and positive role modeling, with duties including transport, supervision, and documentation. The position is essential and offers both full-time and part-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant work experience.
• CT driver’s license with clean record.
• Experience with youth, homeless individuals, or those with mental illness or substance abuse is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a Safe and Supportive Environment by modeling positive behaviors.
• Help support healthy relationships and a sense of belonging.
• Transport residents to appointments.
• Maintain boundaries while showing empathy and compassion.
• Promote recovery and wellness through adherence to treatment plans and routines.
• Observe and document client behavior and progress accurately.
• Answer phones, take messages, and manage mail distribution.
• Ensure safety with regular security rounds and system monitoring.
• Respond to emergencies and de-escalate as needed.
• Participate in group work, assist with chores, and foster growth and fun.
