Community Health Resources (CHR) seeks a Residential Aide for Roots to Recovery in Willimantic, CT. Per diem, part-time, with flexible, as-needed hours in a 24/7 residential setting for men in recovery.

Responsibilities include maintaining program standards, supervising medications, and leading groups per treatment plans. The role requires a high school diploma or better, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification (or in 90 days).

JOB TITLE: Residential Aide

SCHEDULED HOURS: As Needed, Flexible

PROGRAM/LOCATION: Roots to Recovery; Willimantic, CT

ABOUT THE PROGRAM : Roots to Recovery

Roots to Recovery: A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills. R2R is located in Willimantic. There are 14 beds and itis a90 daymaximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs. Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted. Clients cannot work duringtheir stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion.

ABOUT THE POSITION: Residential Aide

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains physical environment and program standards set by funders, accreditors, and agency policies.
• Monitor self-administration of client medications in accordance with the agency medication policies and procedure as program may require.
• Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to effectively collaborate with co-workers and clients.
• Teaches and assists all residents in areas of developmentally appropriate activities of daily living.
• Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one intervention as directed by the treatment plan.
• Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
• Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned.
• Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.

Training: CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.

COMPENSATION*:

$19/hr

*Our per diem and fee for service positions offer a flat hourly rate.
