Job summary

Community Health Resources, Inc. is seeking a Residential Aide for Roots to Recovery in Willimantic, CT. This part-time 16-hour-per-week role includes night shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with duties spanning housing support, medication monitoring, and therapeutic activity facilitation.

You will work under supervision to support residents, track progress, and maintain program standards across CHR facilities. CPR/First Aid training required or obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.
  • Training: CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and any other licensing standard.
  • Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
  • Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to transfer information to other staff regarding the day’s events.
  • Teaches and assists all residents in areas of rehab including nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills.
  • Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
  • Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
  • Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Residential Aide

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time, 16 hours/wk

ABOUT THE PROGRAM : Roots to Recovery

Roots to Recovery: A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills. R2R is located in Willimantic. There are 14 beds and itis a90 daymaximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs. Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted. Clients cannot work duringtheir stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion.

COMPENSATION*:

$19.28/hour minimum, and up commensurate upon experience

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based off of relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
