Job summary

The Residential Aide at Montgomery- County Coalition for the Homeless provides direct services to residents of the Safe Haven Program, ensuring daily activities are carried out and basic needs are met. The role models healthy, supportive behavior and coping skills, and transports clients to appointments when required.

This PRN position supports our job fair on October 5th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 2301 Research Blvd, Rockville, MD 20850.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum one year related experience preferred.
Ability to write routine reports and documents.
Ability to solve problems, negotiate and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
Knowledge and experience in administering CPR and minor first aid.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe, supportive environment for residents in line with trauma‑informed care.
Carry out shift duties as assigned by the House Manager.
Monitor the house for safety using cameras and inspections.
Daily cleaning inside and outside the house to maintain sanitary conditions.
Monitor residents’ behavior to ensure pro-social conduct and adherence to house rules.
Assist residents toward mastering skills to live independently.
Provide transportation for residents to appointments, shopping, and other destinations.
Conduct daily room and area safety checks and provide training as needed in housekeeping.
