Transitional Services for New York, Inc. (TSINY) is seeking an Activities Coordinator for its Residential Mental Health program in Queens Village, NY.

The role involves coordinating recreational activities, planning events, and building partnerships with sponsors to enrich residents’ social experiences. The ideal candidate will have a driver’s license, relevant degree(s), and experience organizing large events for individuals with special needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy or related field.
• Associate’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy or related field plus one year’s experience in planning recreational and social events for special needs populations.
• High School diploma plus three-years’ experience in planning recreational and social events for special needs populations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recreational activities for residents across TSINY programs.
• Organize and manage special events such as Family and Friends Day.
• Develop relationships with corporate sponsors to obtain event tickets.
• Coordinate with Program Directors on calendars, staffing, and transportation.
