Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• DMV driving record verification conducted by the facility.
• Current CPR certification required.
• 1 year of experience driving a passenger van, experience with medical equipment.
• Previous experience as a courtesy driver or in a similar transportation role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resident Transportation: Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other approved destinations.
• Resident Assistance: Assist residents entering/exiting facility vehicles, ensuring safe transport practices.
• Resident Safety and Monitoring: Observe residents during transportation and report changes or distress.
• Vehicle Safety Inspections: Complete pre-trip safety inspections and address safety concerns.
• Transportation Coordination: Assist with scheduling/coordination of Medicaid resident transportation.
• Facility Support: Perform deliveries, pickups, and assist with loading/unloading.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Arrange preventive maintenance and repairs for facility vehicles.
• Policy and Procedure Compliance: Follow traffic laws and facility policies.
