Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC is seeking a Driver (SLHC) to transport residents to appointments and activities in a safe manner. You will help maintain the appearance and safety of community vehicles and support residents during loading and unloading.

Responsibilities include securing wheelchairs and equipment, recording logs, and reporting incidents. A valid license and DOT familiarity are required, with preference for healthcare experience and 12+ months of driving in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Compliance with state/federal regulations including DOT requirements.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, infection control, waste disposal and universal precautions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with endorsements and DMV record acceptable to the facility.
• Must be 25 years or older.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care preferred.
• Prefer 12+ months of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation to residents to/from activities and appointments as scheduled.
• Pickup and deliver items to meet community needs.
• Assist residents getting in/out of the vehicle with safety equipment.
• Operate vehicle lift for wheelchair-bound residents as required.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Record mileage logs, repair logs, trips and expenses.
• Report incidents to the Executive Director and document accident information with photos.
• Identify and report transportation issues to supervisors.
• Maintain daily vehicle activity schedules and monitor hazards.
• Follow safety procedures when securing wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, and equipment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
