Community Housing Innovations, Inc. in Middle Island, NY is hiring a full‑time Resident Support Specialist to provide a safe, supervised environment for residents and staff. The role involves monitoring movement, conducting rounds, screenings, and supporting front desk operations.

You will de‑escalate potential crises, complete documentation, monitor safety systems, and assist with afterschool activities. Excellent communication and English proficiency are required; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, structured, supervised environment for CHI residents and staff.
• Coordinate and verify client movement in the facility; monitor conduct during tour of duty.
• Perform intake screenings and bag searches; ensure policy adherence.
• De-escalate crises and document interventions; conduct rounds of the facility.
• Complete logs, incident reports, and required documentation; perform front desk duties.
• Monitor safety systems; assist with fire drills and evacuations as needed.
• Assist with room preparation and turnover for new clients.
• Maintain inventory and report facility conditions and needs.
• Support afterschool/evening activities as needed.
