Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks a Program Support to assist the Operations Manager in monitoring resident wellbeing and facility safety. This role includes clerical tasks, data handling, meals support, and coordination with staff and residents.

Responsibilities include directing visitors, enforcing house rules, administering tests when needed, and maintaining time records. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential; background checks will be required.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to email, fax, operate copy/print/scan machine.

Responsibilities

• Understand the mission, organizational structure, and policy and procedures of The Salvation Army.
• Direct individuals to the correct staff member and provide approved information as directed by supervisor.
• Provide clerical support including statistics, attendance rosters, mail distribution, and data entry.
• Report resident disputes and concerns to staff and encourage case manager involvement.
• Enforce House Rules in a professional and respectful manner as directed by supervisor.
• Facilitate urinalysis and breathalyzer tests as directed and notify staff of positive tests.
• Issue and monitor resident medications per policy and procedure.
• Perform rounds to ensure resident wellbeing and facility safety.
• Respond to emergencies per policy and notify staff promptly.
• Maintain accurate time-keeping records reflective of duties across grants/contracts.
• Attend staff and program meetings, and cooperate on special projects.
