In the role of Resident Project Representative II, you'll be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, and identifying discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
- Maintaining accurate daily records of the contractor's activities, work performed, labor, equipment, and materials used.
- Reviewing construction materials for contract compliance.
- Tracking quantities and developing pay estimates for acceptance.
- Attending and/or chairing construction progress meetings.
- Conducting observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems.
- Identifying nonconforming work, developing project punchlists, and maintaining them until corrected.
- Developing record documentation for engineer review and acceptance.
- Assisting with project audit and closeout.
- Working under the general supervision of a Design Project Manager.
- Supervising and directing the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives, Construction Inspectors, testing services, and subconsultants.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- EIT, Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification. Candidates hired without their PE will have the title of Resident Project Representative II.
- Experience with New York City Transit projects.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to propose solutions to engineers.
- Local candidates to the NYC area.
Required Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
- Understanding of contracts, codes, and laws governing construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies.
- Teamwork skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related packages.
- Excellent communication skills.
