Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Resident Project Representative or Construction Inspector to oversee horizontal and vertical utility projects in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts. The role offers professional development within a team of professional engineers.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred, with 2+ years of inspection and contract interpretation experience; requires a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred.
• 2+ years of horizontal water/sewer/drain and sewer pump stations experience preferred.
• Experience interpreting contract documents and compliance with safety regulations.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of Contractor's compliance.
• Confirm compliance of shop drawings; measure quantities; observe construction quality; prepare daily records of construction work; report problems to contract documents.
• Review and evaluate Contractor’s work schedules with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with abutters, client, contract administration, and engineers; report on progress.
• Attend regular site meetings to anticipate work, problems, progress, and conditions.
• Review and recommend Contractor’s monthly payment estimates.
• Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
• Overtime may be required.
