Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living seeks an Independent Living Resident Program Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator to support the Program Director in leading Resident Programs in Independent Living. The role also leads community outreach to recruit and retain volunteers for the community as a whole.

The position prioritizes engaging, healthy, and active residents and may support AL and MC neighborhoods as assigned. The IL Program Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator carries out tasks to fulfill Resident

Qualifications

Education or training in a health care field or certified as an activity professional preferred but not required.
Experience working with seniors and memory loss strongly preferred.
Two years’ experience in activity planning for seniors preferred.
Two years’ experience recruiting and retaining volunteers preferred; must be personable with exceptional phone and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist Program Director with planning and preparing a variety of physical, social, recreational and educational events for Independent Living residents.
Manage transportation and resident outings for Independent Living residents.
Assist with production of the Independent Living monthly calendar.
Help residents use digital programs and technology.
Maintain knowledge of local communities, services and events to incorporate into activity schedules.
