Qualifications

• Must have current Food Services Sanitation certificate and 1 year related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, possess written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate organizational and time management abilities.
• Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a nursing home kitchen within state regulations.
• Assist in preparing well-balanced meals according to daily menu.
• Follow requests for special diets to support resident health.
• Place servings using ladles and scoops to ensure proper portions.
• Ensure meals are served on time and residents receive adequate nutrition.
• Provide residents seconds as needed and prepare snacks per schedule.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment and work areas; clean and document sanitation solutions.
• Ensure food storage is covered, dated, and discarded when necessary.
• Wash dishes and operate the dishwashing process efficiently.
• Maintain proper temperatures in freezers and refrigerators and document readings.
• Present a neat appearance with required protective clothing.
• Keep work areas tidy and comply with confidentiality requirements.
