Job summary

Helia Healthcare in Missouri is seeking a Culinary Associate to prepare meals and snacks for residents in a nursing home setting. You will follow established recipes, accommodate therapeutic diets, and maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include portion control, dishwashing, and assisting the Culinary Services team. A high school diploma and a food sanitation certificate are required; culinary training or prior restaurant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Food Services Sanitation certificate.
• 1 year of job-related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• Restaurant, cooking and/or culinary experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to the daily menu to ensure balanced, healthy options.
• Follow recipes and guidelines established by Culinary Services Director.
• Accommodate special diets to support resident health.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environment and proper food temperatures.
• W ash dishes and manage dishwashing process efficiently.
• Assist with snacks and hydration as scheduled for residents.
• Document temperatures and ensure proper storage of foods.
• Uphold confidentiality of residents' information.
