Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Bradenton, FL seeks a Full Time Regular Lodge Shelter Clerk responsible for accepting and processing residents, handling payments, and monitoring safety. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a level 2 background screening.

You will ensure rooms are orderly, monitor security, manage logs, distribute towels and supplies, and support residents while complying with house rules. Prior security or social service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year experience performing security or social service work preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This position is responsible for:

• Accepts and processes residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight; receives and receipts fees received from residents; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all rooms are in proper order before arrival of residents; checks fire equipment and ensures proper working order.
• Distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items; secures and distributes client medications as required.
• Receives receipts and processes payments for rent and obtains clients signature on forms as well as program rules and regulations.
• Monitors the activities of the program residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
• Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action
• Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.
• Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like
