Antelope Valley Care Center is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to maintain resident charts and health information systems in accordance with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines. You will index and file records, transcribe physician reports, and ensure records are complete and accessible to authorized personnel.

The role requires strong typing (45 wpm), knowledge of medical terminology, and proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 45 wpm typing and dictation training provided.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and health information concepts.
• Proficiency with computers and data retrieval/input/output functions; familiarity with privacy rules.

Responsabilités

• Maintain resident medical records and health information systems in compliance with HIPAA and state/federal guidelines.
• Index, file and retrieve charts; ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Transcribe and type physician reports as needed.
• Prepare records for authorized personnel and ensure proper privacy controls.
• Assist in incident reporting, chart completion, and audits; support MDS scheduling per OBRA guidelines.
