PACS is seeking a detail‑oriented Medical Records Clerk to maintain resident health information systems in compliance with federal and state guidelines and privacy policies. The role emphasizes accuracy, indexing, chart assembly, and secure handling of records.

You will support the Medical Records/Health Information Consultant, file and retrieve charts, transcribe physician notes, and ensure records are complete and properly stored.

Qualifications

• Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute and use dictation equipment.
• Knowledge of privacy rules and health information practices preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Maintain resident medical records and health information systems.
• Index and file medical records and charts.
• Retrieve resident records from wards and other designated areas.
• Transcribe and type physician reports as necessary.
• Assist in recording incidents and ensuring chart completeness and proper filing.
• Protect privacy and ensure records do not leave the medical records room without authorization.
