Job summary

Antelope Valley SNF Healthcare, LLC seeks a Medical Records Clerk to maintain resident health information in accordance with federal and state guidance. Responsibilities include organizing medical records, indexing, and processing requests from physicians, nurses, and outside agencies.

The role requires typing 45 wpm, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with medical record software. On-site facility environment with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute and use dictation equipment.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding, indexing, etc.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve resident records (manually/electronically).
• File nurses’ notes, resident assessments, progress notes, lab reports, x-ray results.
• Index medical records as directed by the medical records/health information consultant.
• Maintain minutes of meetings and file as necessary.
• Batch resident information into the computer and retrieve demographic information as appropriate.
