Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health Continuing Care's Herrick House is seeking a dedicated Food Service Aide to prepare resident meals according to menus and sanitary regulations. You will assist with ordering food and supplies and help meet dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities include meal prep, menu planning for events, inventory tasks, daily kitchen cleaning, and following Serv-Safe guidelines. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.

• Ability to work within a budget for food service.

Responsibilities

• Prepares resident meals in accordance with planned menus, inventories and standard recipes.
• Assists in menu planning and food preparation for special events.
• Assists in quarterly inventories.
• Performs daily cleaning of assigned kitchen area.
• Follows Serv-Safe guidelines for food preparation.
• Assists in creating new recipes.
• Performs similar and other related duties as required.
• Ensures food presentation is appetizing and served hot.
