Job summary

Meadow View Assisted Living is seeking a cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in accordance with menus and dietary guidelines. The role emphasizes food quality, safety, and presentation, with responsibilities spanning menu planning, portion control, proper storage, and sanitation while supporting the dietary team to meet residents' needs.

The cook will work in a clean, organized kitchen, monitor inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and follow all safety and infection control

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in institutional cooking, healthcare, or food service preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and dietary guidelines accurately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, dietary specifications, and resident preferences.
• Assist with menu planning, recipe preparation, and portion control.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Accommodate residents’ special dietary needs, allergies, and texture modifications as instructed by dietary staff or healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including utensils, equipment, and food storage areas.
• Collaborate with dietary team members to ensure timely and accurate meal service.
• Monitor inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize food waste.
• Follow all safety and infection control protocols in food preparation and service.
