Meadowview Terrace of Wadesboro is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will prepare and cook meals according to menu plans while ensuring dietary requirements and resident preferences are met, and you will maintain quality and portion control in service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutritious, appetizing and dietary-compliant meals.
• Meal Service: Serve meals in a timely manner with high quality, appropriate portions and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment with proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and report shortages or order needs.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
