Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to tolerate fluctuating kitchen temperatures and to work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Preps food for resident meals according to the daily menu.
• Ensures foods are at correct temperatures.
• Communicates with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Provides superior customer service to residents during mealtimes.
• Adheres to safety, sanitation, and infection control policies.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely (dishwashers, stoves, steam tables).
• Stores foods properly and maintains clean work areas.
• Reports equipment issues to the Culinary Director promptly.
