Job summary

Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare meals for residents and staff in a nursing and rehabilitation setting. You will follow established menus, prepare a variety of dishes, desserts, salads, and trays while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

The role includes coordinating cooking schedules, serving timely meals, and assisting with dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must purchase and wear required uniform.
• Able to operate equipment safely.
• Able to use supplies economically.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• Demonstrates neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Read and follow facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Follows planned menus and prepares food for resident and staff meals.
• Plans cooking schedule to ensure timely service.
• Prepares desserts, breads, salads and runs portions for meals.
• Cooks according to tested recipes and guidelines.
• Prepares trays for patients not dining in the room as needed.
• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Assists in dietary department in staff scheduling and replacements when needed.
