Frederick Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team and prepare meals for dining rooms, the Bistro, and special events in a care-focused environment.

You will work varied shifts, including mornings and weekends, preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, soups, and sauces while following recipes and safety standards. The role emphasizes independence, teamwork, and delivering high-quality meals to residents.

Formación

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years cooking experience in healthcare or food service.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Commitment to person-centered care and excellent customer service.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare meals and accompaniments following recipes and preparation sheets for dining room service, healthcare center, Bistro, and special events.
• Work varied shifts preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, soups, and sauces.
• Operate Bistro stations including grill, fryer, deli, and pizza.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling techniques.
• Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices.
• Work independently with proper guidance.
• Consult with the Chef or Manager on unusual problems and take appropriate action.
• Perform hot food preparation, including accompaniments and garnishes.
• Perform advance preparation as needed.
• Ensure plated food is visually appealing and meets recipe standards.
• Complete food temperature checks and taste all prepared items.
• Record preparation details and store food items properly at the end of service.
• Clean work areas and kitchen equipment used in food preparation.
