Property Management Jobs is seeking an on-site Leasing Manager in Chicago to own the resident experience from tour to move-out. You will lead leasing consultants, manage tours, renewals, and move-ins, and ensure accurate documentation and reporting to the Property Manager.
Responsibilities include pricing, occupancy, concessions monitoring, and coordinating with Marketing, Maintenance, and on-site teams. A valid Illinois Leasing License is required to succeed in this fast-paced, guest-focused
This role sits at the center of resident life at a Flats community in Chicago. You're the main point of contact from the moment a prospect walks in the door through the day they hand back their keys. That means leasing, renewals, move-ins, move-outs, and everything in between. You'll report to the Property Manager and supervise leasing consultants on site.
On the leasing side, you'll manage the full pipeline: tours, follow-up, lease execution, and conversion tracking. You'll stay current on pricing, availability, and any concessions in play, and you'll monitor traffic and lead sources closely enough to adjust strategy when numbers slip. Marketing support is part of the job too, including social media presence and responding to online reviews in a way that actually reflects well on the community.
On the resident side, you'll own the experience after move-in. That includes a 48-hour move-in follow-up, handling questions and amenity reservations, coordinating resident events, and running renewal outreach before leases go month-to-month. When residents give notice, you'll process it in Yardi, schedule the walkthrough, and coordinate with maintenance to keep turns on track and vacancy loss low. Make-ready timelines matter here. A slow punch list costs real money.
An active Illinois Leasing License is required for this role.
Flats positions itself as a tech-forward, experience-driven operator. That means residents arrive with high expectations. They've seen the brand, read the reviews, and expect someone responsive on the other end when something goes wrong. The 48-hour move-in follow-up isn't just a checkbox. It tends to be where early friction either gets resolved or turns into a bad review two weeks later.
This is a fully on-site role. No hybrid option exists. If you've come from a management style that relies on flexibility around hours and location, that's worth factoring in. Resident-facing work runs on the community's schedule, not yours.
For candidates thinking about where this goes: the Resident Manager role at a company with Flats' structure is a direct path toward a Property Manager position. You're already doing most of the operational work. The next step is full P&L ownership and broader team leadership. Candidates who pay close attention to NOI drivers, not just occupancy, tend to move faster into that seat.
