Job summary

Kion Group AG in Memphis, TN seeks an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 to troubleshoot and maintain material handling equipment on site. The role includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical circuits, and documenting work orders.

Shift is rotating nights 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with possible overtime and weekends. Requirements include a high school diploma, with preference for associate degree or vocational training and certified skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational training preferred for advancement.
• Specialized skill training/certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking and component adjustments.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines and document procedures.
• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Create and close work orders with labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
• Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and identify resources needed to resolve them.
• Locate and track spare parts from inventory.
• Perform routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure specifications.
• Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.
• Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels.

Job description

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 3 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance. Acts as a material handling technician on all equipment installed at the Memphis, TN location or site. Aids and mentors other employees as needed.

Shift Schedule is rotating nights working 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, with occasional weekend and overtime as needed.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $28 to $33.50 an hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What's Your Role?

Repair and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment/replacement, component lubrication, etc.

Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures.

Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry.

Create and close work orders into an asset management system with appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.

Troubleshoot semi-complex problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.

Locate and track spare parts from inventory.

Performs routine maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet specifications.

Respond to service calls and correct equipment failures and faults.

Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.

What We Are Looking For

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Typically, an associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred.
• Specialized skill training/certification preferred.
• 2-3 years of troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
• Proven experience in the area of responsibility and successful demonstration of position and key responsibilities as presented above.
• Able to lift and move material up to 50 pounds each.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours.
• Flexibility in covering multiple shifts and holiday hours as required.
