Job summary

Apploi seeks a compassionate Director of Activities to lead resident engagement and recreational programming at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Tucson, AZ. You will design and oversee a calendar of activities, tailor programs to individual needs, and promote social interaction and emotional well-being for residents.

Collaborate with nursing, social services, and other teams to support care plans, maintain compliant records, and coordinate volunteers and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities, recreation, or life enrichment; long-term care preferred.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for working with older adults.
• Ability to plan programs for residents with varying needs.
• Knowledge of skilled nursing activity requirements preferred.
• Relevant certifications or credentials as required by regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive calendar of recreational and social activities.
• Plan engaging programs tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and individual needs.
• Coordinate entertainment, holiday celebrations, games, arts and crafts, music, group events, and special programs.
• Encourage resident participation and promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with nursing, social services, rehabilitation, and other departments to support resident care plans.
• Maintain accurate activity records and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Coordinate volunteers, community partnerships, and outside entertainment.
• Supervise and support activities staff as applicable.
• Create a welcoming environment that promotes resident choice, dignity, and quality of life.
