Job summary

Birchaven Village seeks a Life Enrichment Coordinator to organize and oversee social, recreational and educational programs for residents, ensuring person-centered care and alignment with policy and regulations.

The role involves budgeting, policy development, staff training, calendar planning, staff supervision and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident well-being and meaningful activity experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or registered as a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist OR an activities professional who— (i) Is licensed or registered in Ohio, and is:
• This position may involve nights and weekends.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Organize, manage, coordinate and oversee planning and execution of life enrichment programs for residents.
• Develop and maintain policies reflecting current standards of practice for the life enrichment department.
• Manage department budget, staffing, equipment and supplies.
• Oversee assessments, care plans and progress notes to ensure resident-centered care.
• Lead resident council meetings and participate in QAPI/Leadership meetings.
• Develop and implement life enrichment orientation and ongoing staff training.
