Job summary

EasterHealth Group is seeking an Activities Assistant in Virginia Beach, VA to support the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and directing activities that enhance residents’ well-being. You will assist in delivering social, physical, and therapeutic activities and collaborate with staff to meet care plans.

The role requires engagement with residents, families, and volunteers, with a focus on safety, documentation, and calendar management. Training and regulatory alignment are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in activity-related duties preferred.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and organize volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing a program of activities within budget.
• Develop and maintain an annual calendar of activities.
• Coordinate outside programs and community resources.
• Provide in-room activities for residents unable to attend events.
• Maintain activity records and documentation.
• Volunteer program development and supervision.
• Attend staff trainings and ensure regulatory compliance.
