Job summary

Norview Heights Rehab is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and directing a comprehensive program of activities for residents. You will assist in providing entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression, addressing basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs for all residents.

The role includes creating a monthly calendar, coordinating community involvement, and maintaining detailed activity records.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
6 months to 1 year experience in activity-related duties.
Knowledge of the aging process and resident activities.
Effective verbal and written English communication.
Ability to work with residents with cognitive, physical or sensory disabilities.
Experience with volunteers preferred and ability to organize a volunteer program.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and directing activities to meet residents' social, emotional, physical and therapeutic needs.
Develop, organize and implement an activities program within budget.
Coordinate outside activities and community involvement when weather permits.
Provide in-room activities for residents unable to attend daily events.
Maintain activity records, calendars and documentation in line with policies.
