Job summary

Sunflower Springs is seeking an organized Activities Coordinator to plan and run engaging programs for residents. You will interact with residents at all care levels, coordinate events, and support families and staff.

The role requires transporting residents to outings, supervising volunteers, and maintaining a safe environment. Responsibilities include facilitating resident council meetings, documenting actions, and assisting with dining room service and daily living activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1-2 years related experience and/or training
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

Responsibilities

• Creates and adheres to a monthly activity calendar.
• Speaks to and interacts with residents with empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
• Coordinates special events for residents, families, staff, and assists the community relations department.
• Transports and supervises residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctor’s visits.
• Screens, recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents.
• Provides training and guidance to staff to meet performance standards.
• Acts as facilitator and takes minutes at resident council meetings.
• Provides resolution for reports and documents at the next resident council meeting.
• Supports residents’ health and emotional condition through activities and engagement.
• Assists in dining room during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living when needed.
