Job summary

Sun Communities & Sun Outdoors is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, organize, and facilitate engaging programs for guests and residents at our resorts and communities.

You will lead events from concept to execution, manage calendars, budgets, and vendor relations, and support a positive, fun atmosphere for participants. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills including email and internet.

Responsibilities

• Creates, plans, coordinates, and attends all activities such as picnics, sporting events, dances, and dinners.
• Sets-up and cleans-up after events.
• Provides leadership, motivation, training and support to team members.
• Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
• Be a role model for Sun standards and reputation.
• Maintain a tracking sheet for attendance, vendor utilization, income, and expenses for each activity.
• Ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner; document all payments.
• Produce a calendar of events for the next season within budget.
• Purchase supplies to ensure activities and events are carried out successfully.
• Assist with weekly newsletter preparation and distribution.
• Organize fundraising activities to support the department.
• Maintain inventories of office and activity supplies.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are kept in good condition.
• Other duties as assigned.
