Job summary

Covenant Living at Windsor Park in Carol Stream, IL is seeking a part-time Laundry Aide to pick up, sort, launder, and redistribute resident laundry, labeling items for outside dry cleaning, and ensuring accurate distribution. You will wash at correct temperatures, operate washers/dryers, advise on items needing replacement, and assist with distributing house linens.

Previous laundry or housekeeping experience and the ability to work independently with English communication are required,

Qualifications

• One year high school education.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written in English.
• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to organize routine schedule and duties to complete each day’s responsibilities.
• Be able to make independent decisions in the absence of supervisor.
• An interest in and desire to work with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, sort, launder, and redistribute personal laundry for assigned residents.
• Label and distribute items to be laundered and dry-cleaned by outside services.
• Wash laundry at proper temperatures with proper detergents and chemicals.
• Operate washing machine and dryer in laundry process.
• Distribute laundered items to resident rooms and storage areas.
• Assist in distribution of house linens from linen service as needed.
• Be familiar with duties and responsibilities of housekeeper position in order to fill in if needed.
