Job summary

Walnut Grove Care & Rehab Center is seeking a compassionate Laundry Assistant for a Part-Time Evening shift. You will handle washable articles, operate laundry equipment, and help maintain cleanliness and safety across resident services.

Responsibilities include loading and sorting items, following infection control procedures, and supporting a culture of quality. Prior laundry experience and good English communication are preferred; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally.
• Must stand, walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to follow infection control procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Load articles into washer and dryer.
• Sort dried articles by identification numbers and type; fold and place items.
• Lubricate machines and mend torn articles.
• Read and understand equipment operation manuals.
• Ensure sanitation and quality standards are met; follow written/oral instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.
