The Montana Department of Public Health and Public Services (DPHHS) invites applications for an Accounting Technician at the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs. The incumbent will maintain resident fund accounts, record all transactions, and handle payroll and canteen/boutique receipts in a cashless system.

Required are GAAP knowledge, accounts payable/receivable experience, strong data entry skills, and a high school diploma.

Formación

• Knowledge of GAAP and state financial procedures.
• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in accounting.
• Minimum 2 years of data entry and computer experience.
• Banking experience is preferred.
• Typing and data entry skills tests will be given.
• Background checks will be conducted.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain accurate records of resident funds under a cashless system.
• Record all receipts, deposits, and withdrawals for each resident account.
• Issue checks on behalf of residents.
• Prepare monthly statements of resident accounts.
• Maintain cash drawer and balance receipts for the canteen and boutique.
• Enter resident employee payroll.
