Job summary

Marion Valley SNF Healthcare, LLC seeks a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff Physical Therapist with resident-related activities and direct resident care in a post-acute setting.

The role involves treatment under the PT, documentation, infection control, coordination with the interdisciplinary team, and educating residents and families on goals and home programs. California licensing requirements may apply where relevant.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Proficient in Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
• CPR certification, if required by licensure.

Responsibilities

• Treat residents as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and/or Rehabilitation meetings, as needed.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervising physical therapist to update physicians, nursing staff, and families regarding progress, goals, and discharge planning.
• Provide in-services on training programs for other staff in the facility as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention strategies.
