Job summary

Morningside Elite Management is hiring a Maintenance Assistant / Porter for the Morningside House of St. Charles community in Charles County, MD. This full-time role is Mon-Fri, 9:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m., focusing on upkeep of the building and grounds and timely completion of work orders to support residents. You will handle routine maintenance, assist with move-ins, follow safety plans, and participate in training and staff meetings while maintaining a professional demeanor with residents,

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and completes resident work orders, ensuring quality of service to maximum resident satisfaction.
• Performs work needed to ready apartments for move-in as assigned.
• Performs general maintenance projects as assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing and electrical equipment, carpentry work, painting, equipment repair, snow removal and outside landscaping maintenance.
• Knowledgeable of all property emergency, safety/disaster plans and procedures.
• Responds promptly to emergencies.
• Maintains office, shops, storage and mechanical areas to Morningside Elite Management standards.
• Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
• May provide transportation services for residents.
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of Morningside Elite Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
