Job summary

The Lodge Senior Living is seeking a Line Cook to prepare meals according to the facility’s menu, recipes, and residents’ dietary needs, ensuring nutritious options and appealing plating.

You will work with other culinary staff to maintain a smooth kitchen operation, follow safety and sanitation standards, modify dishes for low sodium, diabetic-friendly, or pureed diets, and help manage time during busy mealtimes while ensuring on-time service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in a similar facility or food service preferred.
• Must maintain safe food handling and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare dishes according to menu, recipes, and dietary needs of residents.
• Plate and present meals appealingly, considering dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
• Work efficiently to ensure meals are served on schedule with a smooth workflow.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow health codes and safety standards.
• Follow food safety regulations including proper storage, handling, and preparation of ingredients.
• Assist in inventory management by noting usage and aiding in ordering.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
• Modify dishes to meet dietary restrictions (low sodium, diabetic-friendly, pureed).
• Collaborate with culinary staff to ensure consistent meal quality and address feedback.
