Job summary

Goldwater Care is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and our policies. The role reports to the Dietitian/Director of Food Services and ensures high-quality food service at all times.

The Cook will review menus, support policy development, plan diet menus, coordinate with other departments, and ensure procedures are followed. Experience in a hospital or care facility is preferred, with a sanitation certification and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• One (1) year dietary/food experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility preferred but not required.
• Must have State Food Service Sanitation certification.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English.
• Must function independently and work effectively with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating department policies and manuals.
• Interpret policies to personnel, residents, visitors, and family as necessary.
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physician.
• Coordinate food services with other departments as necessary.
• Collaborate with the facility’s dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure all food service procedures align with established policies.
