Job summary

Cura of Sauk Center is seeking a dependable Cook to join our Dietary Department. You will prepare nutritious meals meeting residents' needs, working closely with the Dietary Manager and Aides to ensure timely, safe, and high‑quality service.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, following menus, and supporting therapeutic diets while maintaining sanitation and food safety standards. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Cooking experience in healthcare, long‑term care, restaurants, schools, or commercial kitchens preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Experience with therapeutic or modified diets is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Prepare therapeutic and texture‑modified diets per physician orders and IDDSI guidelines.
• Ensure meals are attractive, properly portioned, and served at the correct temperature.
• Follow production sheets and adjust quantities as needed.
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Monitor temperatures and document findings during prep and service.
• Follow infection prevention procedures and glove use.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Assist with inventory, labeling, FIFO, and storage of food items.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any issues.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
• Collaborate with dietary staff to ensure resident satisfaction with meals.
