Job summary

Midwest Health is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with current applicable standards and the facility's policies, under the supervision of the Director of Food Services. You will ensure meals meet planned menus, dietary restrictions, and safety guidelines while maintaining residents' dignity and quality of service.

Typical duties include reviewing menus, producing meals on time, adhering to sanitary procedures, and coordinating with Nursing and Dietary staff to support therapeutic

Qualifications

  • ServSafe certification required as part of dietary duties.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator, Director of Nursing or Charge Nurse on Duty.
  • Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established diet and food service procedures.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
  • Ensure sanitation and safety regulations are followed at all times by staff.
  • Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food and supplies as necessary.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs of the department to the Director of Food Services.
