Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to work onsite with customers in the Port Arthur area ( Beaumont/Orange/Port Arthur/Lake Charles ) in the US. You will diagnose issues with analytical equipment, perform startup and preventive maintenance, and train customers and staff as needed.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience or 5+ years with an Associate's, plus travel readiness and valid passport. ABB offers comprehensive benefits and an on-site work model in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical degree plus 2+ years of related experience, or an Associate's with 5+ years.
• Strong technical background in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive and unplanned maintenance of analytical products.
• Willingness to travel ~10% and possess/maintain valid passport and driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Work onsite with customers to identify opportunities to improve operations.
• Perform field service tasks, diagnose issues, and analyze on-site or remote data.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability of parts and equipment for service activities.
• Serve as trainer for field service staff and customers.

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

The work model for the role is: Onsite in Port Arthur, TX (Open to home location in Beaumont, Orange, Port Arthur, and Lake Charles) #LI-Onsite

Your role and responsibilities

• Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
• Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
• Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
• Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
• Responsibilities also include performing commissioning/start-up services, troubleshooting/repair services, and preventative maintenance on measurement and analytical equipment.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's or Technical Degree with 2+ Years of experience or Associate's Degree/High School Diploma with 5+ years of relative experience
• Strong technical background with technical skills in startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive, and unplanned maintenance of analytical products including but not limited to continuous gas analyzers and gas chromatographs (PGC5000, PGC1000 would be a signficant plus )
• Ability to build strong customer relationships, to work effectively with minimum supervision, demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, and be customer service oriented
• Strong Computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10% as required.
• Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
